Anelie Belden

Lecture:  “Dresden Dance”

We're starting 2014 with a great speaker "Anelie Belden". Anelie began her sewing career working in the fashion industry which gave her the skills to begin her Quilting career. After owning her own quilt store and teaching quilting in her area she began to design quilts. This lead her to  taking the traditional Dresden Quilt design and creating a new updated Dresden Design which are featured in her book titled “Thoroughly Modern Dresden”. Not only are the designs modern, they are constructed using a breakthrough piecing technique to improve speed and accuracy. Belden has recorded a program demonstrating her technique with “The Quilt Show”, starring Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims. She has also taught at Quilt Guilds throughout the country, Houston Quilt Festival and with Empty Spools Seminars in Asilomar, California.

Mary Maschuta is a quilting legend.
Her February program is titled "Too much is Not Enough".

mary mashuta

There is no "one right answer" to your color dilemmas. The good news is, there are many right answers. Mary takes the mystery out of the color wheel and even invents a new color scheme.

Fun pictures of painted houses and cars illustrate how you can learn about color and design in the world around you.

Show Mary you aren't afraid of color and wear your most colorful outfit.

Did you know that Mary is Roberta Horton's twin sister?
